Iskren Iliev was born in Varna in 1975 and graduated from the University of Applied Arts in Vienna, major Painting. He has numerous exhibitions, video installations and stage projects implemented in Austria, Bulgaria, Italy, France, Slovakia and Germany. His paintings are part of private collections in Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium and Switzerland.

Since 1996 he has been living and working as a freelance artist in Vienna, Austria.

“I do not want to focus on a concept or the so-called "artistic idea." I am champion of the anti-conceptual painting in support of the freedom of the brush and thought, without further reflection, I’d prefer everyone to have the opportunity to form  his own opinion about the supposed content of my work.”
